Btw -- many cars are coming with this feature. My Prius has it (and I
love this feature btw).

I think a lot of research has been done on the subject of security by
Prius owners (many of whom are quite technical by the nature of the car
itself). I think that might be the best place to start the research.
The consensus on Prius forums, however, is that these systems aren't the
easiest to break.

If you find anything interesting, let us know.

Hi,

The 2007 Nissan Altima now comes standard with a hands-free keyless
ignition
and entry system. The car can be started with a push of the button as
long
as the driver has their RFID-equiped key fob in their pocket or purse.
The
car doors can also be unlocked with a push of a button on the door
handles
if the key fob is close by.

My prediction is that in 10 years almost cars will come with this same
hands-free feature.

My question: Can a unique ID number be read on the sly from a Nissan
key
fob by someone who has the right kind of reader unit?

Richard
