Why would I answer questions that are based on false premises? It would be
pointless.
Also, I wasn't trying to "one-up" you. I genuinely couldn't care less
whether people on this list think I'm the best thing since sliced bread or
an egotistical n00b. I'm also not the one who started the personal attacks
here. I debated a point in your premises and you lost the plot and started
accusing me of wanting to "appear intelligent compared to the rest of the
group".
As for the 'should we pigeon hole ourselves more' quesiton. No, I don't
think we should. I think security professionals can learn a lot from other
disciplines especially when it comes to the development of automated testing
tools. A lot of work has been done in other areas that is applicable to the
security industry (formal verification, AI etc) and having a knowledge in
these areas can only be beneficial.
